week 11

 This week in science we did something different than we usually do. We actually got two new teachers this week. These two teachers will be teaching the chemistry section of our course. 

In lab, we did a few new things. We made name tents and then were introduced to what we are going to do in class that day but also what we should expect the next five weeks of the semester. 

After we discussed all these different things, we then started to do some different experiments around the room. We started with an experiment with M&M's and water. This experiment was really fun and awesome because we got to eat the candy. The purpose of this experiment was for us to practice writing down observations, questions, and evidence to our findings. 


After this experiment we went around to different tables and did a few different ones for the remainder of class. It was really fun doing the experiments and getting to write down our observations, questions, and reasonings. 

Overall, I have no questions about the lab this week. I thought it was really fun and a great way for us to move into the next five weeks.

    Hi Oksana! I also thought this week's lab was a great way to transition into our physical science unit. Eating the candy was my favorite part too.

Week 15, final week of science ;(

 This week in science we wrapped up all of our class sections. We still did some pretty fun stuff in lab and also took of final in our last lecture class.  In lab, we played a really fun game that taught us how to make observations and inferences. We were given a capsule with a mystery item inside. We had to use observations to find our partner who had a matching capsule with the same item on the inside. It was really fun trying to find our match! After we found who we thought was our partner, we had to write down what observations and inferences. Then we wrote down how confident we are that we are a match, then wrote what we thought was in our bottles. We were 100% a match which was awesome. I loved this experiment/ game and would defiantly do something like this with my future students!
