Week 7
This week in science we did something a little different than usual. This week in our lab we did DNA structures with candy and we made our own babies! Both of these activities were very fun and engaging in class. Beside the lab for this week, we also had a test in our lecture this week.
For our first activity this week, we did DNA spirals with candy! First we watched a video on how this activity replicated DNA spirals. The video explained to us how the gum drops represent the different DNA codes, G-C-A-T. A and T pair up, along with G and C. So, the different colors of gum drops represented these pairs. Then we used toothpicks and a twizzler to attach all the components together to create a replica of a DNA spiral with candy! This was really cool and a great way to learn about how each code pairs with one another. I think that this is also a great way to learn about how DNA works. This activity did not leave me with many questions, I thought it was a great activity overall.

I also liked the DNA with candy activity because it was helpful to see a model and leanr more about it in a fun way. Your post looks great!
